FREE Summer Children's Contests

The SUMMER of 2020 - we are pleased to announce three different contests for children in our community this summer. Our members wanted to offer some safe activities that the children can have some FUN with!

June    Coloring Contest - Color the coloring page to the left, which portrays an uplifting quote from Winnie the Poph. Entries can be sent to the following email address by either scanning the page or taking picture of it: All entries Must be received by end of day June 30th. Winners will be announced the first week of July!


10 and Under:

July    Patriotic Drawing Contest

Children are free to draw anything they want in celebration of the 4th of July. All entries must be received by July 31st. Winners will be announced the first week of August.

August   Summer Photo Contest

Children are invited to submit any nature photograph which they captured during the summer, All photos must be received by August 31st. Winners will be announced first week of September.

CONTEST RULES AND PRIZES - All entries to the above contests must be submitted by their respective deadline. The email address to submit entries to is; Please include the child's name, an email address and child's age. Please submit one entry per child.                                 

Prizes will be awarded in the form of Amazon e-gift cards and will be awarded to both 1st Place and 2nd Place.

The club will forward an Amazon e-gift card to the email address submitted with the entry.

By submitting an entry, you give permission to the LPOC to show the entry on our Facebook page and website and to use your child's name ONLY if they are selected as a winner. All winning images become the property of the LPOC.

40th Annual Egg Hunt 

The Optimist Volunteers provide refreshments to the community at the Annual Easter Egg Hunt held at Eagleville Park. Come to this FREE event and hunt for eggs and get a chance to see live rabbits!

Spelling Bee

Each year the Club Sponsors a student in the District Spelling Bee. This year's Bee was held at the Giant Food Market in Willowgrove, PA. This year's participant, Janet J. was a worthy opponent, finishing in 3rd Place!

2019 Methacton HS Award Recipents

The Optimist Club recognizes students within the Methacton District with trophies for their outstanding character. This is an opportunity to recognize students in our township for their commitment to being a giving and kind person. A $500.00 Scholarship (Hohlfield DellAngelo and Quintana's Award) is also presented to a senior at the High School who demonstrates respect to others.

Photo Contest

Each year the club sponsors a photo contest for the children who participate in the Lower Providence Camp Program. The winners are awarded Gift Certificates and of course, every child is recognized 

with a small token of appreciation for their participation.

July 4th Birthday Bash, Celebration & Fireworks

You can find The Optimists at their tent grilling up hamburgers and hot dogs at our concession stand, along with other goodies. Stop by and satisfy your hunger as you listen to the concert and watch the Lower Providence Annual Fireworks Display.

33rd Annual Fall Fest

Lower Providence Fall Fest is one of the communities premiere events.

It's a great day to spend the day visiting the vendors and of course stop by and visit the Optimist tent to satisfy your hunger with freshly grilled

hot-dogs, hamburgers Veggie Burgers and other goodies!

Collecting Tabs

The optimists collect tabs for Ronald McDonald House to help recoup money that is used for families of Children to stay nearby at the homey facility located near the Hospital. This gives the child and family the ability to be together during significant treatments.

This is an ongoing project throughout the year.

Quilts for Kids - Children's Hospital

Our talented members spend some of their extra time creating beautiful homemade quilts for children being treated for serious conditions in the Greater Philadelphia Children's Hospital. These quilts bring warmth and joy to local children being treated for illnesses.
